Around the ruins of Dunstaffnage Castle and Chapel, near Oban, Argyll and Bute (the castle and chapel are not pictured). There's a small woodland next to the castle, which itself shrouds the chapel. Both were built in the 13th century. Behind the woods there are some secluded rocky bays with views out towards the islands and distant mountains. It's a place with a lot of history and atmosphere.
We sat on rocks with coffee and Christmas cake, watching cormorants diving in the bay.
