Recently I travelled down south for work, crossing the border for the first time in a long while due to COVID restrictions. One our way back north we stopped at Thorntonloch Beach, near Dunbar, along the A1 about halfway between the Scottish border and Edinburgh. It's a gorgeous sandy beach which happens to be right next to a nuclear power station. What that means for the health and safety of any swimmers, I don't know. Still, it's a nice place, and it was so welcome after having stayed in a very inland area for the past week. I miss the sea very quickly when we travel away from the coast.
